travel tips
A camping tour is one of the best ways to experience Zion National Park because it combines iconic hikes with comfortable camping, delicious meals, and the flexibility to explore different parts of southern Utah from one or two central locations.
Spring and fall are generally the best seasons for hiking, offering cooler temperatures and more enjoyable conditions on trails like Angels Landing and the Fairyland Loop. Be prepared for dramatic temperature swings, sun exposure, and occasional flash flood risks that may lead to detour hikes.
Comfortable trekking shoes with strong traction are essential, along with a reusable water bottle or hydration bladder, sun protection, lightweight layers, and a headlamp or flashlight.
Because Zion can become crowded during peak months, guided hiking tours offer an advantage by going with a local expert who knows how to time the trails, allowing guests to focus entirely on the experience of hiking among Zion’s towering sandstone walls.
